London, Nov 25 (UNI) Hiding the gums, holding the bleach, not showing the bottom teeth and setting lips at just the right angle constitute the formula for the perfect smile, dentists and researchers say.
Dr Nicholas Davis of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, said,''Everyone wants the perfect smile and Jessica Simpson is the one we get asked to reproduce the most.
''Creating the ideal smile involves taking all kinds of dimensions and factors into consideration, including the shape and size of the face, the lips, gums and the teeth,'' he said.
According to his report, colour is important and people bleach teeth too white these days.
''One of the first things about a smile people notice is the colour. People are bleaching their teeth beyond what is natural.
The teeth should be the same colour as the whites of your eyes. If they are too white, they become more dominant than the eyes,'' the Independent quoted Dr Davis as saying.
According to him, there are strict mathematical ratios governing the ideal smile. The visible teeth should be straight and little should be seen of the bottom set.
He added that very little of gums should be visible and they should be a healthy pale pink colour.
