Fake journalist arrested in Kashmir

Police
today
claimed
to
have
arrested
a
fake
journalist
who
used
to
dupe
people
by
assuring
them
jobs
in
various
government
departments
in
the
state.
Police said the crime branch arrested Mohammad Maqbool Qazimi from Pulwama district in south Kashmir.
They said the crime branch received a complaint from one Wali Mohammad Wani of Chewa Kalan in Pulwama district, alleging that Qazimi had taken Rs 12 lakh from him for getting his three people appointed as naib tehsildar and block development officers.
However, Wani said neither the appointments were made nor the money were returned back.
During the course of investigations, it was revealed that the complainant in league with Qazimi had collected Rs 16,65,000 from innocent people after promising them government jobs.
It was also revealed that Wani and Qazimi were running a racket where by they used to cheat innocent people by collecting handsome amount fraudulently after promising them government jobs.
The inquiry conducted into the matter prima facie established that the accused had duped the innocent people, police added.
