Lucknow, Nov 25 (UNI) The BJP has demanded a unified policy to tackle terrorism in the country, ''before it gets out of hand.'' ''Re-introduction of POTA by the centre would be the safest and fastest mode to counter terrorism in the country,'' opined former BJP national president and Rajya Sabha member Murli Manohar Joshi.

Addressing a news conference here today, Dr Joshi, after visiting the serial blasts spot at Lucknow, said after the terrorist attack on Parliament and judiciary, now it is the media's turn.

''I suggest that media should not highlight the cause of the terrorists or terrorism rather they should concentrate on anti-terrorist activities,'' the BJP leader suggested.

Blaming the vote bank and minority appeasement policies for the rise of terrorism in the country, he said intelligence network in the country should be strengthened and they should firm up better coordination among the states and other agencies.

Dr Joshi also urged the minorities to come forward to condemn the terrorist acts to express their nationalist feelings.

''Political ideologies should not come in way of countering terrorism.'' ''Now the terrorist outfits are trying to create terror among the people and the recent blasts in the court premises was aimed at preventing the judiciary to punish the guilty involved in these acts,'' he noted.

Commenting on the terrorism in UP, he said the government had already admitted that 35 districts out of the total 70 were terrorism infested.

''UP government should make more efforts, particularly along the porous international borders with Nepal to check the crime,'' he further added.
