Baroda smells victory against Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Nov 25 (UNI) Baroda were inching towards victory in their match against Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy Super League Elite Group-B match at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here today.

Baroda after making a huge score of 476 for the loss of nine wickets, drew first blood by picking up D Manohar's wicket for 40 runs at the draw of stumps on penultimate day today.

Southpaw Conner Williams was largely responsible for Baroda's big total. Williams hit 153 off 329 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and one sixer.

Rakesh Solanki's 78 off 157 with seven boundaries and Pinal Shah's 68 off 84 balls with five boundaries and one six were the other big scores.

Hyderabad spinner Lalith Mohan took four wickets conceding 126 runs.

Resuming their second innings, with a first innings deficit of 215 runs, Hyderabad lost opener Daniel Manohar for duck.

Raviteja (27, 5x4) and Anoop Pai were at the crease when the day's play ended.
