Jabalpur, Nov 24 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court has given conditional permission for continuing education to 150 MBBS students who secured admission to an Indore-based medical college.
The students challenged the state-level Fees and Admission Committee annulling their admission to Index Medical College.
After three consecutive days of en masse hearings of students' pleas, Chief Justice Anang Kumar Patnaik and Justice Ajit Singh yesterday ruled that the admission's final status would be in line with the court's future ruling. January 3, 2008 was set as the next date for hearing.
The bench noted that the committee's decision was taken without hearing the students' side and would waste their academic year. The petitioners were represented by advocates N S Kale and Vivekkrishna Tankha, the college by Mr Rajendra Tiwari and the committee by Mr Purushendra Kumar Kaurav.
