Bhopal, Nov 24 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi has protested against the state government posting Mr Vijay Yadav as inspector-general in the Lokayukt Special Police Establishment and urged Governor Balram Jakhar to intervene and cancel the posting.
''The dumpers' purchase case, in which Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stands accused, is being investigated by the establishment. In such a situation, the posting is an attempt to influence the inquiry,'' she pointed out in a letter to Dr Jakhar.
A copy was sent to the state Lokayukt and the latter urged to distance Mr Yadav from the probe. Copies of the letter were released to the press today.
''The Chief Minister has misused his office by wantonly posting the officer after the initiation of the investigation,'' Ms Devi added.
