Mysore, Nov 24 (UNI) The country's 'first ever' Bio-Technology (BT) Finishing School will be established in Bangalore shortly, Karnataka IT and BT Secretary M N Vidyashankar said today.
Addressing the media here after opening the new campus of the 'country's first' IT Finishing School, he said Bio-Technology which was making rapid strides in the world, suffered from lack of manpower and hence the need was felt for establishing a BT Finishing School.
The school may start functioning from February 2008 and in the first phase, the intake would be 100 progressively increasing to 1,000 over the coming years, he added.
BT sector of late had been attracting huge investments and it was necessary to provide best professionals Mr Vidyashankar said. The BT Finishing School was expected to cater to the need of the upcoming BT industries, he added.
Referring to the city of palaces, the Minister said as many as 50 more industries were planning to set up shortly.
The multinational Target Group was expected to commence operations by February 2008 at an investment of Rs 35 crore in the first phase on 28 acre of land, which was already allotted to them by the government.
He said Mysore would be the next destination for the IT industry and was expected to boost further in the coming days since the city had been emerging as one of the five top Tier II cities in the country.
