Karnataka to have BT Finishing School soon

Mysore, Nov 24 (UNI) The country's first ever Bio-Technology (BT) Finishing school will be established in Bangalore shortly, Karnataka IT and BT Secretary M N Vidyashankar said today.

Addressing the media persons here after opening the new campus of the Country's first IT Finishing School here, he said that Bio-technology also making strides in the world and lacking man power and hence it was felt to establish BT Finishing School. It may start functioning from February 2008.

In the first phase the intake would be 100 and the number would increase to 1000 in the coming years.

BT sector of late attracting huge investment and it is necessary to provide best professionals and the BT Finishing School was expected to cater to the need of the upcoming BT industries, Mr Vidyashankar added.

Referring to the IT industry in the city of palaces Mysore, he said that as many as 50 more industries like target groups and others are planning to set up their industry shortly. The multinational target groups are expected to commence their shops by February 2008 with an investment of Rs 35 crore in the first phase on 28 acres of land which was already allotted to them by the government.

He said that Mysore would be next destination for the IT industry and expected to boost further in the coming days since the city has been emerging out one among the five top tier II cities in the country, he added.
