BARC Director (Material) Suri and JVVN CMD Gupta gets MNIT Awards

Jaipur, Nov 24 (UNI) Dr Ashok Kumar Suri, Director of Material Group at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre(BARC) Trombay and Mr R G Gupta Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Jaipur Vidhyut Vitran Nigam will be felicitated with Distinguished Alumni Awards by Malviya National Institute of Technology(MNIT).

The two engineers, the pass outs of 1970 and 1969 batches of the institute, formerly from Malviya Regional Engineering College, would be conferred with the awards at the third convocation of the institute to be held here tomorrow, Chairman, Board of Governors Mukul Kasliwal said here today.

They would be conferred with the award for their outstanding contribution in the field of engineering and technology and for their lifetime achievements.

Degrees and medals to a total of 465 graduate and post graduate students would be awarded during the convocation which would be held here in the presence of several noted dignitaries, including National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council Chairman V Krishnamurthy.

Mr Krishnamurthy would deliver the convocation address, Mr Kasliwal said.

The institute set up as regional engineering college, a joint venture of the Rajasthan Government and the Government of India, in 1963, was upgraded into national institute of technology(NIT), with a deemed university status in 2002 and has now been recognised as the full fledged university since August 15 this year, he added.
