New Delhi, Nov 24 (UNI) Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Asif's elbow injury might heal before time as he is recovering faster than expected and Pakistan selectors might find him available for the Bangalore test against India.

Asif pulled out of the Indian tour at the last minute complaining pain in his right elbow. He has complained about the pain in his elbow in past as well and was forced to miss three tests in England last summer and four ODI matches against South Africa last month.

Pakistan board's chief operating officer, Shafqat Naghmi was quoted as saying by 'The News', '' He is recovering faster than our expectations. He has started bowling at the academy and says there is no pain in his elbow.'' Asif will be flyin to Australia to seek a third medical opinion on his injury as he received contrasting advices from two doctors in Pakistan, one suggesting surgery, the other complete rest and treatment.

''Asif will be leaving for Australia in next couple of days because we want him to see another specialist there just to be on the safe side," Mr Naghmi added.

''Asif is an important player for us and we are trying our best to get him fit as soon as possible. If he is fit and is needed by the team, he might play in the Bangalore Test.'' UNI
