Patiala, Nov 23 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh earned three points from the drawn match against Goa on the final day of the 4-day tie in Cooch Behar Trophy (Under-19) here today at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.
Goa got one point.
Overnight 244 for 2, Goa were all out for 447 in 142.5 overs in the second innings. In the first innings, Goa were all out for 214. U.P. replied with 473 for 7 declared.
Suraj Dongre was the hero of Goa's innings today, scoring a brilliant century (113), embellished with 12 fours.
N.Pawaskar was the other Goa batsman who played with utmost caution, though at times he showed brave aggression, scoring 70 runs, which was studded with 12 hits to the boundary.
Rajeshwar Harikant (48) and A Sirodkar (42) were the other batsmen to make modest contributions to the Goa's huge total.
For UP, Sunil Tripathi and B. Kumar took 3 wickets each, giving away 80 and 83 runs respectively. Mohammad Khalid too bowled well to capture 2 for 99.
At the end of day's play, U.P. had scored 26 for no loss in the second essay. Akash Verma and Sunny Pathak were unbeaten on 5 and 7 runs respectively.
Uttar Pradesh next play against the Railways here from November 26 to 29.
