Pilot project on control of deafness being implemented in city
Chandigarh, Nov 23 (UNI) The Centre has chosen Chandigarh for implementation of a pilot project on 'National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness'.
Work on this national programme of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has already strated.
A training programme was held for obstetricians and paediatricians at Government Medical College and Hospital here. The participants were apprised about this programme with special emphasis on ear diseases and role of obstetricians and pediatricians in early diagnosis and management of ear diseases.
Similar training was earlier given to 45 doctors working in dispensaries. About 100 ANM, Anganwari worker and LHVs were also imparted training.
The next phase of programme would be creating awareness among students in schools.
