Jeev, Shiv make the cut

Geisei (Japan), Nov 23 (UNI) Defending champion Jeev Milkha Singh shot a super four-under 68 to climb up to joint 15th place at the end of the second round of Casio World Open golf tournament here today.

Jeev fired three birdies and two bogeys in his two round aggregate of one-under 143.

His compatriot Shiv Kapur survived some initial hiccups and made the cut. The Indian ended the second day at 73 for a two round total of three-over 147 and was lying at 43rd place.

Jeev had a birdie on second and third holes before making his first bogey on par-3 eighth. On the back nine, he started with a birdie and added another on the 14th before making his second bogey in the 16th.

A closing birdie on 18th helped him to finish the round with 68.

Kapur had birdies on fifth, sixth and 11th. He then dropped strokes on the 12th, 16th and 18th to spoil his round.

Round leader South Korea's I.J. Chang shot a 67. He has just one-shot lead over tour veteran Taichi Teshima.
