Court refuses bail to Custom Superintendent
Patna, Nov 23 (UNI) Special CBI judge,Patna, Radheshyam Prasad today rejected the regular bail petition of a Superintendent of customs department in a corruption case.
After hearing, the judge refused to release S S Sahay, the then Superintendent of customs department on bail in a case of financial irregularities committed at Gaya International Airport in 2003.
According to the charges under the conspiracy of other customs officials, Mr Sahay allowed some passengers to leave the Gaya International Airport without realising proper customs duty causing loss of about Rs 1.25 lakh in 2003 to the department.
The case was registered in 2004. CBI had submitted chargesheet in the case against Mr Sahay and three Inspectors of custom department in 2006.
Mr Sahay was lodged in jail after his arrest by CBI from November 25, 2007.
