Chief Secy of Gujarat to appear before EC full commission

New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) The Election Commission today summoned the Chief Secretary of Gujarat to appear before the full commission on Sunday, at 1100 hrs.

The Commission issued the order following the non compliance of the directions by the State government in respect of posting of Satish Sharma as new Joint Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad in place of Mr PK Jha. The commission has earlier directed the government for the transfer of Mr Jha.

The Election Commission sources said steps were initiated for conducting smooth, peaceful and fair election in Gujarat.
