New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) Condemning today's three bomb blasts in Lucknow, Faizabad and Varanasi courts of Uttar Pradesh, the BJP squarely blamed the Centre's soft policy towards terrorists.
Citing a number of serial bomb blasts in many places ever since the Congress-led UPA Government came to power, BJP senior leader Sushma Swaraj said it was all due to the weak Government approach to contain terrorism.
She said the Government had sent the signal of its 'soft' policy towards the extremist elements by withdrawing POTA which was brought in by the previous NDA government in line with its proactive policy to root out terrorists.
The Centre also did not take any decision on the death sentence awarded to Afzal Guru, involved in the terrorist attack on Parliament.
Mrs Swaraj regretted that while during the NDA regime, terrorists were either nabbed or killed in exchange of fire, no terrorist had been arrested by this government in several terrorist cases of bomb blasts including those in Mumbai trains, Delhi, Varanasi during Holi festival, Hyderabad and Ajmer.
She said it also showed a complete failure of the intelligence network for which the Centre could not escape its reponsibility.
Mrs Swaraj said it was not that no terrorist attack happened during the NDA rule, but the Centre through its act and policy must demonstrate its determination to check ultra activities.
