BCCI should reduce 'communication gap': Kapil

Chandigarh, Nov 23 (UNI) Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev today said that his main motive is to promote cricket and not to confront any other cricket organisation.

While talking to media persons after the inaugration of 'The Mobile Store', the Essar group's telecom retail chain, here, Kapil said, "The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) should make effort towards reducing communication gap which it has created with other cricketing organisations and players".

While answering a question on whether Indian Cricket League (ICL) will allow its players to play in tournaments organised by other organisations, he said, "We can not stop our players to play other matches as the main objective of ICL is to promote cricket and players." On a question about the controversy over the Indian cricket team chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar writing a column in a newspaper, he said, "It is his personal choice, whether he wants to write or not is fully depended on him." About West Indies former captain Brian Lara's association with ICL, Kapil said that everything would be clear in two-three days.
