Mumbai, Nov 22 (UNI) A ten-day International Islamic Peace conference, focussing on ''Peace is the solution for Humanity'', gets underway in the Metropolis tomorrow.
Scholars from Egypt, US, UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia and India will assemble at the sprawling Somaiya grounds at Sion, to speak on Terrorism, Secularism, Islam and Women's rights and will also explain Islam's message of peace.
The speakers also include Shaikh Mohammed Ayoub, former Imam of the Prophet's mosque in Medina, Anwar Ibrahim, former deputy prime minister of Malaysia and Egypt's Husain Hassan, dubbed the father of Islamic banking.
Organised by the city-based Islamic Research Foundation (IRF), the conference will witness Scholars discussing ''the rising extremism in the name of Islam'', such as the seige of the Lal Masjid in Lahore, according to Dr Zakir Naik, who heads the IRF.
He said the audience would also comprise Non-muslims and they would be encouraged to ask questions and express their doubts.
An Exhibition will highlight various facets of Islam and rational approach in life.
