Patna, Nov 22 (UNI) Bihar Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh today charged Union Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan with misleading the people of Bihar on availability of fertiliser in the state and offered to face any level of enquiry to ascertain the facts in this regard.
Mr Singh told reporters here that Mr Paswan had claimed on November 19 about release of additional 2.51 lakh tonnes of fertiliser to Bihar, which was far from realities.'' The amount of fertiliser released by the Centre was in accordance with the requirements for the months of October and November and it was certainly not in excess as claimed by Mr Paswan,'' he clarified.
Quoting related data, Mr Singh said that Mr Paswan had tried to project gloomy picture of distribution of fertlisers in the state while it was being efficiently done by the officers of the Bihar givernment.He dismissed the reports of black marketing of fertiliser as reason behind its crisis in the state.
''I offer to face any level of enquiry, be it by Lok Sabha committee, Vidhan Sabha committee or even by sitting judge of High Court or Supreme Court,'' he said adding if the facts presented by Mr Paswan were correct, he was ready to resign otherwise, the Union Minister should be prepared to resign.He castigated the Centre for initiating the practice of giving the responsibility to the state for importing the DAP.
