SAO PAULO, Nov 22 (Reuters) Luis Fabiano scored twice to give Brazil a fortuitous 2-1 win over Uruguay in their World Cup qualifier after the vistors had taken an early lead and dominated much of the game.
Goalkeeper Julio Cesar came to Brazil's rescue several times as they beat their smaller neighbours for the first time since 1999, a run stretching over six games.
Sebastian Abreu gave Uruguay an eighth minute lead before Luis Fabiano equalised in the 44th minute and snatched the winner midway through the second half yesterday.
An impatient Morumbi crowd jeered Brazil, insulted coach Dunga and booed Ronaldinho and Robinho when they were substituted in the second half. Brazil have eight points from four games in the South American group while Uruguay have four.
