Hooda awards traders for export achivements

Chandigarh, Nov 22 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, on the occasion of Haryana Day celebrations at India International Trade Fair, New Delhi last evening, awarded those entrepreneurs who have excelled in exports from the state.

In the category of large and medium scale units, the first prize of Rs 25,000 was awarded to Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar, second prize of Rs 15,000 was bagged by Hero Honda Motors, Dharuhera and third prize of Rs 10,000 went to G E Motors (India) Private Limited, Faridabad.

In case of small scale units, the first prize of Rs 25,000 was awarded to Lekhraj Narender Kumar of Kaithal, second prize of Rs 15,000 was bagged by Magpie Exports, Kundli and the third prize of Rs 10,000 was awarded to Phase Three Limited.

While speaking on the occasion, Mr Hooda said the state government was taking all possible steps to provide better infrastructure and facilities to the industries so as to create an industrial-friendly climate in the state. He said Haryana pavilion was the most visited pavilion in the IITF 2007 till date.

He said Haryana was at the first position in the country in regard to per capita income and investment, milk production and manufacture of cars, cycles and motorcycles. He said that Haryana has taken up industrilisation as a major tool for achieving socio-economic development of the state.

A colourful cultural programme depicting Haryana's rich culture was presented on the occasion. The programme started with Sarswati Vanadana and many folk dances and songs were presented by the noted artists of Haryana.

Mr Hooda announced to give Rs three lakh to the artists who performed at the Haryana Day Function at IITF 2007 on the occasion.

Among others present on the occasion included Chairman of Administrative Reforms Commision Karan Singh Dalal, Political Advisor to Haryana Chief Minister Prof Virender Singh, Financial Commisioner and Principal Secetary, Industries Mr P K Chaudhry, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Commisioner and Secretary Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Haryana Mr K.

K.Kandelwal, Chief Administrator of Haryana Trade Fair Authority P K Mahapatra, Director Industries Haryana D R Dhingra and Administrator of Haryana Trade Fair Authority Anand Mohan Sharan.
