Haryana authorises deptts to choose their own vehicles

Chandigarh, Nov 22 (UNI) The Haryana government has authorised all its departments, including Boards and Corporations, to take their own decisions for selection of the models and categories of cars and vehicles which are to be purchased for official use.

Stating this here today, an official spokesman said however these vehicles would have to be purchased as per the entitlement of the officers for whose use it would be purchased.

Regarding the entitlement of price range of vehicles for the officers, he said that the price range for the officers holding the posts of Financial Commissioners and Principal Secretary and Commissioners and Secretaries was upto Rs six lakh, for Special Secretaries, Joint Secretaries, Heads of the Departments, Managing Directors of Boards and Corporations upto Rs five lakh and for officers other than Heads of Departments, Managing Directors of Boards and Corporations it would be upto Rs four lakh.

The entitlement of price range was inclusive of all taxes.

He said these vehicles were to be purchased as and when a vehicle was condemned and replacement vehicles would be bought.

Due sanction for purchase of new or additional vehicles should be obtained as per procedure and Government instructions.
