Faizabad, Nov 22 (UNI) Former Uttar Pradesh Food Processing Minister -- Anand Sen Yadav -- who resigned from the Mayawati Cabinet after facing allegations into the much hyped 'Shashi abduction case,' might now be called for interrogation anytime.

Ayodhya Circle Officer (CO), also the Investigation Officer (IO) into the case, Sharad Chandra Pandey today said ''since Anand's name is emerging in the Shashi abduction case, he could be called for interrogation.'' The changing statements of the case main accused Vijay Sen Yadav, also the former chauffeur of the minister, further baffled the police, who has so far failed to get any evidence, the IO Officer added.

''The case is now seeming to be of murder, following sighting of an unidentified body near river Gomti in Sultanpur district on October 26,'' he informed.

Later, one Bablu Pasi was arrested for stealing a watch from the dead body's wrist.

Victim's father Yogendra Prasad had alleged the hand of Anand into the crime. Shashi's personal diary also contains the name of the minister.

Recently, Inspector General of Lucknow zone A K Jain had said '' the mentioning of the former minister's name into the victim's diary does not proves his hand into the crime...no person would be interrogated without any evidence.'' Vijay Sen Yadav, said to be a close relative of Anand Sen Yadav, had been allegedly involved in the kidnapping and murder of LLB (3rd year) student of Saket Degree College in Faizabad on October 22.

Earlier, Vijay had said Shahsi committed suicide by jumping into the river Gomti. Later, he changed his statement, saying he pushed her off into the river.

Police had also attempted to fish out the victim's body, but was of no avail. Later, police had decided to conduct Vijay's Polygraphy and Narco test.
