Addressing a press conference here yesterday, Mr Thirumavalavan also suggested that the government should ensure adequate police protection for political party leaders of the state.
He would be meeting Chief Minister M Karunanidhi shortly and put forward these suggestions, he added.
While welcoming the Tamil Nadu Government's decision for creating a new revenue district with the headquarters at Ariyalur, he said the Government should bifurcate other big districts also.
He demanded that the Tamil Nadu Government convene an all party meeting and finalise the further course of action against the Kerala and Andhra Pradesh State Governments' move to establish new dams across Mullaiperiyar and Palar rivers, bypassing the Supreme Court verdicts.
He urged the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to insist the Centre to take steps for protecting the Tamils in Sri Lanka and also wanted the Centre to bring the Sri Lankan Government and the LTTE across the table for negotiating a political solution for the ethnic Tamils issue.
