David Hookes Foundation charity match with '86 tied Test as theme

Mumbai, Nov 22 (UNI) The David Hookes Foundation will be conducting a charity game on November 23 at Barosa Valley, around 70 km from Adelaide with the 1986 tied Chennai (then Madras) Test as the theme.

The match will be played between South Australia Premier Masters Invitational XI and Rest of the World XI, a release informed here today.

All the players and the two umpires who were part of the tied Test of 1986 have been invited. Ray Bright, David Gilbert, Bob Marsh, Bruce Reid, Greg Matthews among others would play for the South Australia Premier Masters Invitational XI, while for the World XI Arjuna Ranatunga, Asanka Gurusinghe, Carl Hooper, Chris Smith, Ijaj Ahmed, Bishen Singh Bedi, Suru Nayak, Vinod Kambli, Raju Kulkarni and Mohd Azharuddin would play.

Dora Dotiwala and Vikram Raju, the two umpires who stood in the tied Test will also stand in this match.

This foundation organises such matches every year with last year's theme being Masters Ashes wherein Derek Randall, Gladstone Small among others had taken part, the release added.
