BSNL unveils slew of new offers, services

Bangalore, Nov 22 (UNI) In its big to keep at bay the stiff competition from private telecom operators, BSNL has offered a slew of new offers and services to its customers.

It has waived off installation charges and security deposits for new land line customers and any customer opting for annual payment would get two months of bills waived off.

Briefing the new offers from the telecom giant, BSNL Principal General Manager Subhendu Ghosh told news persons here today that new SMS based services like Advertisement, fleet management, 'find your buddy' and chatting services would be available for Bangalore customers from next month.

It had also begun field trials of Wi Max wireless broadband services in the city and it would go on stream in a three months time.

Offering a range of attractive services and offers in cellphone servies, he said BSNL now offered 'Kushi jodi' a free add on connection to all post paid existing and new customers without any fixed charges or security deposit. Under student plan it offered 'Maha SMS' and stubscribers on a pack of Rs 50 per month will be able to send 5000 free SMS in a month.

It also offered extra talk time for post paid cell phone subscribers offering Rs 100 free talk time for Rs 225 plan and Rs 200 free talk time to Rs 229 and above customers.

In Broadband service the company had introduced two Home Combo Plans - 500 c and 500 c plus. In the first plan usage up to 1.5 GB and 175 free calls per months was offered for a combo offer of Broadband and landline connections. Calls beyond free call limits would be as per one india plan. In the second plan, it offered free usage of 2.5 GB and 50 free calls. Under both the plans subscribers were allowed unlimiated usage from 0200 hrs to 0800 hrs, he added.
