Rs 294 cr release for 126 tourism projects

New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) The Tourism Ministry released Rs 294.50 crore to State Governments and Union Territories during the current fiscal upto October for 126 projects, it was officially stated today.

The projects relate to the creation and development of infrastructure at tourist destinations and circuits, a Tourism Ministry press release said.

The projects include flood-lighting of monuments in Rajasthan (Rs 6.4 cr), development of Marina beach in Tamilnadu (Rs 3.9 cr), development of Corbett National Park as a tourist circuit (Rs 4.8 cr) and Munsyari as a tourist destination (Rs 3.6 cr) in Uttaranchal, Indian Freedom Circuit on Mahatma's Path in West Bengal, Kolkata (Rs 1.8 cr), and Kanganheri Water Sports Tourism Project (Rs 2.4 cr) and Chhawla Water Sports Tourism Project (Rs 3.3 cr) in Delhi.

Among other projects are the development of Suraj Kund as a tourist destination (Rs 1.8 cr), eco-tourism in Morni-Pinjore Hills and Sultanpur National Park (Rs 2.6 cr), eco-tourism in Kalesar (Rs 2.5 cr) and Dharuhera Tourist Complex (Rs 2.9 cr) in Haryana, development of tribal circuit with special focus on eco-tourism in Spiti in Himachal Pradesh (Rs 5.6 cr), beautification of beach promenade at Puducherry (Rs 4 cr), development of Art and Craft Village at Goregaon Film City in Maharashtra (Rs 3 cr), development of Sanchi destination (Rs 3.7 cr) and Ujjain destination (Rs 3.4 cr) in Madhya Pradesh, and development of Pathiramanal Bio Park in Kerala (Rs 4 cr), wildlife interpretation park, Amreli in Gujarat (Rs 3.8 cr) and Bijapur Bidar Gulbarg Circuit in Karnataka (Rs 5.1 cr).
