New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) One person was arrested and charas worth Rs 50 lakh in the international market was seized from him, police today said.
On getting information that one Vijay Kumar Gupta would be coming for supply of consignment of charas near Mata Chanan Devi hospital, Janakpuri, police laid a trap an apprehended him.
A jute bag in which a consignment of fine quality charas in thick form, wrapped in transparent poly sheets and then wrapped in yellow colour tape, was recovered from his possession.
Police said, Vijay, a science graduate from Bhagalpur University, Bihar, used to sell ganja after opening grocery shop in Dwarka.
Later, he was lured into the sale and purchase of charas, the consignment of which he got from Nepal.
He had come to the city for medical treament of his wife but stayed back. He has been previously involved in NDPS act cases in Uttar Pradesh.
Further investigation is on, police said.
