National Integration Week concludes in Chandimandir

Chandigarh, Nov 21 (UNI) The Communal Harmony and National Integration Week celebrations concluded at the Chandimandir military station today with the holding of a prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the painting, debate, essay writing and banner-making competitions.

The Western Command AWWA (Army Wives Welfare Association) had organised the competitions for the children of Kendriya Vidyalyas and the Army School Chandimandir.

Earlier, as part of the celebrations, a communal harmony run had been organised on November 18 in which officers, JCOs and other ranks participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Simriti Dhillon, a senior functionary of AWWA, said that the objective of celebrating the week was to make people aware of the paramount importance of maintaining communal harmony.
