Major IAS rejig officer facing charge chosen year's best servant
Ranchi, Nov 21 (UNI) The Jharkhand government has carried out a major reshuffle of 15 IAS officers of secretary rank.
The notification was issued late last night, official sources said here today.
Controversial Ashok Kumar Singh, principal secretary (rural development) was posted as member of revenue board. Mr Singh has been chosen as the best public servant of the year by a committee of Jharkhand Assembly.
Significantly, he was at present facing corruption charges and had spent nearly a month in Bihar's Beur jail on charges of cheating and misuse of official position in 2003.
Other 14 officials affected by the reshufle included Mr R S Sharma, principal secretary. He got additional charge of personnel department, Ms Sheela Kisku Rapaz, Director Sird was made secretary cooperative, Mr R S Poddar, divisional commissioner, Ranchi posted as secretary revenue and land reforms and Mr Vishnu Kumar, secretay revenue as divisional commissioner of Ranchi and Palamu.
