Ranchi, Nov 21 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today instructed all works divisions to ensure use of funds allocated in plan and non-plan budget for the current fiscal within stipulated time.
Mr Koda held a 6-hour review meeting with certain departments like Jharkhand State Electricity Board, roads, irrigation, building, water to name a few and took stock of the progress made by each of them so far in the past one of year of his goverment.
The Chief Minister's pulling up socks assumed siginificance in the wake of the Congress' two-month deadline set for him--either to ''perform or perish''.
After the meeting held at Indian Institute of Coal Management, Mr Koda told a news conference that he was not happy with the progress made by the departments and added that each departmnetal heads were instructed to implement schemes, whether of planned or unplanned budget within the stipulated time.
Expressing concern over the acute power crisis, Mr Koda said he had already written to the Centre seeking additional power supply to tide over the situation.
He said the state required minimum 1200 mw of power during peak hours and the supply was far less adding that the Patratu Thermal Power was not operational fully.
Units I, II, VII at the plant were on and the production of unit VI was expected by next month, he said adding the highest production units IX and X ewquired repair and BHEL was assigned to do the job within a year.
He said progress of repairing or constructing roads would be seen from next month.
