FII's registering in India
Mumbai Nov 21 (UNI) SEBI Chief M Damodaran today said that a large number of foriegn investors want to register in India to participate in the booming stock market.
Addressing a gathering of investors in Capital market summit here today he said that number of FII's have approached SEBI for registration in last one month It may be recalled that late last month, the stock exchange regulator had put restrictions on participatory notes (PN) and the market regulator also directed unwinding of some existing PNs within 18 months.
Damodaran also said that there are plans to introduce real estate investment trusts and listing of securitised instruments. SEBI is also working on guidelines to help speed up the process for raising capital.
