Ambala, Nov 21 (UNI) The Congress party will win in the assembly elections and again form government in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here today.

The HP Chief Minister, who had broken his journey enroute to Nahan from New Delhi at the Railway Station here, told mediapersons that the electorate would return the Congress party to power because of good work done by his government.

He said that his government believed in 'kaam kia hei kaam karenge' (have worked, shall work) and had undertaken development work in the hill state during its tenure.

In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said that the BJP was a divided house and its leaders were engaged in the fight over ''who would be the chief minister.'' ''The two factions led by former chief ministers Shanta Kumar and Dhumal were fighting a war for supremacy,'' he said adding that the electorate was ''disillusioned by their infighting for power''.

''How would the BJP leaders think of the people's welfare while quarreling over their own vested interests,'' he asked.

Commenting on the chances of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) under its slogan of social engineering, he said in an oblique reference to former Congress leader Vijai Singh Mankotia who has recently joined BSP as the state convenor, that the defectors had no chance in Himachal Pradesh.

Mr Singh said that his government had done a lot for the Dalits and other backward communities and was confident that the Congress would get full support from the people.
