Guwahati, Nov 21(UNI) Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi met a group of investors from the United States and discussed prospects on investment in adventure and eco-friendly tourism in Assam.

He met them at his official residence at Khanapara in the city here late yesterday evening. This is the first visit by potential investors as a follow-up to the Chief Minister's visit to New York in September last.

The group also evinced keen interests in exploring potential opportunities to source organic products for export including spices, exotic fruits and vegetables besides tea.

The group, including Ms Christina Heyniger, Mr Shams Tabriz Habib and Ms Natasha Martin, had over two-hour long discussions with the Chief Minister.

We are looking forward to develop and market the appropriate products and services to attract key clients in the West,'' said Ms. Heyniger, who has vast expertise in this sector having worked globally in areas with enormous bio-diversity like Madagascar and Central America.

Mr Gogoi while assuring the investors of the Government's help and support, said that the climate in the state was conducive for investments.
