Buffer stock of 50,000 MT urea created in Haryana

Chandigarh, Nov 21 (UNI) A buffer stock of 50,000 Metric Tonnes (MT) of urea has been created for Haryana by its Lead Fertiliser Supplier KRIBHCO against which 33,000 MT of urea has already been stocked and rest of the quantity will be stocked by the end of this month.

Stating this here today, Haryana Director Agriculture, Sumita Misra said the buffer stock had been created as per the guidelines of Central government to avoid any shortage of urea fertiliser in the state.

She assured availability of sufficient stocks of Urea in Haryana and said all arrangements had already been made by the state government so that no situation of shortage of urea fertiliser in the state arose.

She said a total quantity of 11 lakh MT of urea had been assessed to be consumed in Haryana during the current Rabi season.

The availability of fertilizers was being monitored closely in collaboration with Central government, district administration and fertiliser suppliers. A meeting with the fertiliser suppliers to review the availability, stocking and supply of fertilisers was convened by her recently, she added.

She said about 4.72 lakh MT urea had so far been received in the state against the requirement of 3.95 lakh MT during the month of October and November, 2007.
