BJP terms Ganga Expressway Project as anti-farmer
Mirzapur, Nov 21 (UNI) Terming the ambitious Noida-Ballia Ganga Expressway Project as 'anti-farmer', the BJP today alleged that the process of land acquisition by the Uttar Pradesh government was a conspiracy to disown farmers of their farms.
''Lakhs of farmers will become landless for the sake of the proposed project. The development of UP is not possible with the construction of roads alone...efforts need to be made on improving agriculture,'' BJP state unit former president Om Prakash Singh said here.
''The Mayawati regime is misleading people by linking Ganga Expressway with the industrial development. Even the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) government used to talk about such developments, but the result is visible to all. The BSP rule is even worst than SP regime,'' he charged.
Firing a salvo at UP government, the BJP leader accused it of working with a secret agenda and conspiring to snatch lands of the farmers.
