Asia Cup winning Indian men's Hockey team feted

Bangalore, Nov 21 (UNI) Public sector State Bank of India today honoured the Asia Cup winning Indian men's hockey team and announced a cash reward of Rs one crore.

Each player o the 18-member squad along with Chief Coach Jochaim Carvalho and Manager R K Shetty were rewarded with Rs five lakh each.

Cheques was presented by SBI group Chairman O P Bhatt to Indian Hockey Federation Secretary General K Jothikumaran at a glittering function held here today.

"Our national hockey team has done the country proud by lifting the coveted Asia Cup with a convincing win. Our players have shown great determination, exemplary team work and atmost dedication to the game," he said.

India beat South Korea 7-2 in the final played in Chennai during September this year in the 11-team tournament.
