Orissa facing border problems with Bengal, AP
Bhubaneswar, Nov 20 (UNI) Orissa is having severe border disputes with neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal over 68 villages, Revenue Minister Manmohan Samal told the state Assembly today.
Replying to a Opposition's question, Mr Samal said the state, however, had no border conflict with Chhattisgarh.
Mr Samal said efforts were on to resolve the border problems with Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.
He said the state government had filed two cases in the Supreme Court against the southern neighbour over the ownership of 21 Kotia cluster of villages and Boramutha village in Koraput district.
While the apex court had completed hearing and reserve the order in one case, the state government had filed a curative petition in another case after the court ruled that the case was not within the ambit of their jurisdiction, he said.
