Oppn din forces Mah Council to be adjourned for the day
Nagpur, Nov 20 (UNI) The Maharashtra Legislative Council was adjourned for the day after being adjourned thrice for a total of one hour today amid opposition's din demanding complete loan waiver to farmers in the state.
The trouble erupted as soon as Chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh ruled that a discussion on the issue would be held tomorrow. Mr Deshmukh's ruling came on a notice vide Rule 289 for a discussion on the issue setting aside all the regular business before the House, given by Leader of the Opposition Pandurang Phundkar, Nitin Gadkari (both from BJP), Madhukar Sarpotdar and Diwakar Raote (both from Shiv Sena) and several others.
As soon as the Chairman gave his ruling, Opposition members, some of whom were wearing saffron caps and white T-shirts printed with slogans, trooped into the well of the House, raising slogans. The members said that as the issue was important, any discussion on it could not wait till tomorrow.
Amid the din,the Minister for Finance Jayant Patil tabled the supplementary demands for 2007-2008 in the House and Mr Deshmukh announced the panel of officiating chairmen for the current session.

for
15
minutes
as
no
minister
concerned
with
the
issue
was
present
in
the
House
to
state
the
government's
stance
on
the
notice
for
the
resolution
from
the
opposition.
