More than two quintals ganja seized, three arrested
Cochbehar, Nov 20 (UNI) The Cochbehar police in West Bengal seized more than two quintals of contraband 'ganja' from a truck and arrested three people at Mekhliganj in the district today.
Police said it had conducted a search in a Punjab-bound truck carrying tea from Assam and found fifteen bags containing ganja. They seized the vehicle and arrested three persons in this connection.
The market price of the recovered contraband goods is estimated to be Rs five lakh, sources said.
The arrested persons each from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Cochbehar respetively would be produced in the court tomorrow, the sources added.
