Agra, Nov 20 (UNI) Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and Uttar Pradesh Congress unit in charge Digvijay Singh today claimed that the condition of farmers in UP was deteriorating under the present Mayawati regime.
''Ms Mayawati is paying little attention towards the welfare of farmers..this lackadaisical attitude has worsened their condition,'' Mr Singh said while addressing newspersons at a farmers meet here.
Accepting that his party had weakened in the state, the Congress leader lamented that organistion workers ran after power instead of working for the benefit of poor people.
''Greed and sycophancy would not be tolerated in Congress anymore..those, who still want to run after power can join any other party,'' Mr Singh warned.
