New Delhi, Nov 20 (UNI) The Nandigram issue will be discussed in the Lok Sabha tomorrow after the NDA and the Left resolved the impasse which stalled Parliament for two consecutive days, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi said today.
A short duration discussion under Rule 193 will be held in the Lok Sabha after the NDA and the Left agreed to the text of the notice to the Speaker of the House for a discussion, he informed the media. Discussion under Rule 193 does not entail voting.
The BJP had been demanding Nandigram-specific discussion irrespective of the rule.
Confirming that the agreed text mentioned Nandigram, Mr Dasmunsi declined to take questions on the Congress' stand on the issue, adding it would be known in the House when the issue is taken up for a discussion.
Asked if the impasse had also been resolved in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister said the resolution of the deadlock in Lok Sabha was being conveyed to the Upper House.
Nandigram violence rocked both the Houses of Parliament on the second day today. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day after repeated adjournments.
