Judge defers Jayakumar murder case verdict to Dec five

Puducherry, Nov 20 (UNI) Puducherry second additional judicial magistrate Annamalai today deferred the judgement in the Jayakumar murder case to December five.

The argument in the case had already been completed and the judge had fixed today to pronounce the verdict.

However, the judge posted the case to December five this morning and announced that the judgement would be pronounced on that date.

Heavy security arrangements were made in the court premises.

Jayakumar (27), an accused in the case was chased by a gang on March 26, 2004, and in order to escape, he entered into the Mudaliarpet police station. The gang followed him and killed him inside the police station by throwing a bomb.

Police arrested 25 persons in connection with the crime, including Sankar alias Jayasankar of Ouppalam. While 12 persons were still in prison, the remaining have already been granted bail.
