Guwahati, Nov 20 (UNI) The Inter-Governmental Panel of tea producing nations will meet here on November 22-24 on the sidelines of the India International Tea Convention (IITC) 2007.
More than 450 domestic as well as overseas delegates, including those from tea importing and producing nations, would participate in the convention, that would help in the development of Tea growing nations.
Talking to reporters here today, member of local steering committee of IITC 2007 Chandrajit Saikia said the Inter-Governmental Panel would hold their third meeting on the sidelines of the convention.
He said, ''This will be the third meeting since the first in Kenya immediately after the panel's formation and the next in Sri Lanka. As most of the member nations will be in Guwahati for the IITC, they have decided to hold the meet here.'' He said delegates from Kenya and Sri Lanka have confirmed their participation.
