Hyderabad, Nov 20 (UNI) Children Film Society of India (CFSI) Chairperson Nafisa Ali Sodhi today said the CFSI would invite more foreign delegates to participate in the 16th Children's International Film Festival (CIFF) to be held here in 2009.
Speaking to newspersons here, Ms Sodhi said the CFSI could not invite foreign delegates due to lack of funds during the 15th CIFF.
The Centre has sanctioned more funds in the 11th five-year plan to promote children's films, she said, adding, ''it would enable us to invite delegates from the USA and European countries.'' Stating that the CFSI was also taking steps to improve the quality of children's films by arranging workshops for directors and script writers, she said the State Governments should also take responsibility to promote the films at their level.
Ms Sodhi said the children's films would be screened free of cost from village level to create awareness on social issues and empower them to achieve their goals from this year.
