Arunachal bags 13 medals in National Karate Championship

Itanagar, Nov 20 (UNI) The karatekas from Arunachal Pradesh have won 13 medals - five gold, four silver and four bronze - in the 21st All India Karate-Do Championship held at Chennai from November 15-18.

Official sources said here today that of the total medals' tally, twelve medals were bagged on individual performances while a silver medal was won for junior boys' team.

A 20-member team, comprising 17 karatekas and accompanied by Arunachal Karate-Do Association (AKA) general secretary L Marik as team manager, AKA vice-president S D Sharma as team coach and AKA president Likha Tara as directing member, participated in the national championship.

Meanwhile, the Arunachal Olympic Association congratulated the AKA and the players on their success.
