Gurdaspur, Nov 20 (UNI) Seven persons were killed and 20 others injured in different road accidents in the district today.
According to police sources, four persons were killed and 13 others injured when the truck in which they were travelling overturned near Bham village.
In the second mishap, a husband and wife were killed and four others including a BSF DIG were injured in a collision involving a trawler, a jeep and two scooters between Gurdaspur and Dinanagar on the Pathankot-Amritsar highway.
Police reports said that the trawler first hit a scooter, killing a husband and wife near Paniar village. The trawler which went out of control then hit a scooter, injuring the lone rider on it.
The trawler driver in a bid to escape collided with a BSF jeep, injuring Gurdaspur sector DIG S S Sandhu, Commandant Satnam Singh and the driver on the outskirts of Dinanagar.
The police with assistance from the public later arrested the trawler driver.
In the third accident, one person was killed and three others injured following a collision between a car and a scooter near Sohal village. All the injured in the accidents were admitted to the civil hospital here.
