Imphal, Nov 19 (UNI) Various women's organisations in Manipur have urged the state government to restore peace and harmony in the state.
The All Manipur Tammi Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup condemned the blast at Paona bazaar here on November 16 which left one person dead and injured four others.
The organisation also described the act of attacking people in crowded places as an act of terrorism.
It appealed to all outfits not to kill innocent people by planting bombs at crowded places.
The All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) also urged the state government to ensure the safety of the people as the crime rate had been increasing.
Meanwhile, security forces intensified counter-insurgency operations at Imphal.
Director General of Police Y Joykumar and other officials were touring various parts of the capital town to oversee the security arrangements, official sources said.
The entry of four-wheelers was banned at Khwairamband Keithel, the main market area.
However, the AMNM iterated that banning the entry of vehicles would not help solve the problem.
