Sinha releases devotional CD on Shri Mata Vaishno Devi

Jammu, Nov 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt General S K Sinha released a CD on devotional songs of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, here today.

General Sinha after releasing a cassette and CD 'ma haro meri peer' lauded the efforts in producing the CD saying that it will prove to be a classical blend of devotion and music and hoped the devotional spirit of the 'mata' will transcend boundaries and spread the message of peace, harmony and tranquility.

However, he further said Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine board is gearing up for receiving one crores pilgrims in coming years, with their number having crossed seven million mark last year.

''this year, during the past ten months over 70 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the cave shrine, Lt Gen Sinha, who is also the chairman of SMVDSB said.

Meanwhile, the governor also complimented the producers especially pandit Bhajan Sopori for presenting the world the audio cds and cassettes and giving a big break to the local artists.

''the Duggar land has produced eminent artists including K L Saigal who mesmerised the people by his melodies, Lt Gen added.

A cassette and CD 'ma haro meri peer' has been produced by Samapa audios in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir academy of art, culture and languages.
