Jamnagar, Nov 19 (UNI) The district administration has taken into account all the security aspects in order to hold free and fair elections in eight assembly constituencies next month.
Talking to mediapersons, Collector V P Patel said, ''The administration is particular about holding free and fair elections.
For that, all security aspects have been taken into account in the eight assembly constituencies.'' The eight constituencies are 24 Jodiya, 25 Jamangar city, 26 Jamnagar rural, 27 Kalavad, 28 Jam-Jodhpur, 29 Bharvad, 30 Jam-Khambhaliya and Dwarka. In all these constitutencies, voting will be held on December 11, he said.
The collector said out of the total 12,95,536 voters strength, eighty-five per cent voters in the district hold photo ID cards.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police Piyush Patel said the police had been maintaining strict vigil. Till date, 5,500 anti-social elements have been rounded up and action has been initiated against 70 persons under PASA. Action is also being initiated against 2,200 persons to hold them without bail until the elections are over, he said.
